The current food crisis in the Horn of Africa has resulted from the worst drought for this region in 60 years. In July, 11 million people were in desperate need of food and water. This number has now climbed to 13.3 million people.
Thanks to donations already received, ChildFund has delivered life-saving food, water and medicines to children suffering from severe malnutrition. However, the crisis is not over yet and children and families still need emergency assistance.
Your donation will be used to provide emergency food rations, clean drinking water and vital medicines to seriously malnourished children.
The video below is from our team in Kenya who are working in ChildFund Early Childhood Care Centres to provide young children with a daily meal, fresh water and medical care. Hundreds of children arrive every morning to receive the only meal they will eat that day.
Without the generous support of caring Australians, we could not provide this one meal. It is the difference between life and death for thousands of children in Kenya and Ethiopia. Interventions like this are helping to reduce the number of children who are being admitted to hospital with severe malnutrition.
Please donate whatever you can spare today so we can continue to support children through this crisis.
Your generous donation will be directed to our work in Kenya and Ethiopia. If we exceed our appeal target, any extra funds will be directed to other ChildFund projects.
