End TB in PNG
Tuberculosis (TB) is a highly infectious bacterial disease and it can affect almost any part of the body, but most commonly strikes the lungs.
It is Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) number one health problem. Almost a third of those with TB are children under 15.
Children like Grace.
Grace is 10 and lives in a remote village in PNG.
The first time Grace had TB, she was terrified.
Grace was given a course of antibiotics that had to be taken daily for six months. She quickly felt better, and due to a lack of information and support, she stopped taking the tablets.
Grace was not cured. Her TB returned, making her sicker than ever before.
This time, Grace needed daily injections and a two-month stay at the clinic.
Although she is now back home, Grace needs to take daily medication for five months, to ensure her TB is cured. The Health Worker at her clinic is unable to travel to her village to check up on her.
Your donation in action:
- Train village TB Treatment Supporters, who live in-community and monitor children like Grace until they are cured.
- Provide petrol so ChildFund 4-wheel drives can access remote communities and deliver training or medication
- Stock first-aid kits for remote health clinics.
Please help save children like Grace

No child should have to go through this.
