When our family of five from Seaforth in Sydney was planning a trip to Africa this year, we knew that top of our itinerary was a visit to Jenerian (age 14 years) in Kenya, whom we had sponsored for the past 11 years.

My brother Michael and I recently went to Ethiopia to visit my sponsored child Bedlu. We arrived at Debri Berhan at around 10am, where we were met by Terefe. Debri Berhan is 130kms north of Addis Ababa and is where Bedlu boards and attends school during the week.

My wife and I recently visited our two sponsor children, Kavidu (age ten) and Ama (age nine) in Sri Lanka. ChildFund arranged the visits and, after arriving at Colombo airport, we were met by our driver/guide who was with us for the entire visit.

The whole experience with ChildFund in Kenya was amazing. I was picked up as planned at around 6am in the morning in Nairobi. My guides were awesome - Lucas and Kenya (the driver). They were very informative the whole way up into the Rift Valley, showing me the different landmarks.
