My name is Uyen Dong Thi.

I’m a Program Intern at ChildFund Vietnam in Bac Kan province.

My role involves supporting the programs team in Bac Kan in organising workshops, meetings and training courses. I also help translate documents and narrative reports, and implement project activities.

I’ve been at ChildFund since March 2017.

Uyen Dong Thi, a program intern with ChildFund Vietnam, has been implementing project activities in various communes in Bac Kan province. She’s also a star at organising social activities.

My most inspiring moment at ChildFund was when I received a big gift at the gala night of the Retreat, a team building event, in 2017. Our team put all its mental and physical energy into preparing a dance and a song for the night and I really felt like a part of the ChildFund family.

The things I love most about my job are the experiences and my colleagues.

I have had many opportunities to work with children, young people and partners to implement project activities in the communes. My work environment in the ChildFund office in Bac Kan is great and everyone is friendly.

When I was a child I wanted to be a teacher.

The country I’d most like to visit is Australia because of its striking landscapes, rich culture, strong economy, reputable universities and high quality education.

The top 3 things I’d take with me in an emergency would be a helicopter, a lighter and water. If I was stuck on an isolated island they would help me escape and survive.

My favourite dish/cuisine is traditional Thai ethnic foods. I am from Moc Chau in Son La province where most people are of Thai ethnic minority. Thai ethnic cuisine is famous for barbecue dishes, especially fish and pork. The barbecue is wrapped in banana leaves with various herbs and spices. It’s so delicious!

I’m really good at organising social activities and communicating.

I can’t live without dreams and travelling. Dreams make me work hard and travelling opens my mind.

I’m looking forward to studying abroad to get an MBA degree.
