Cambodia has one of the youngest populations in the world – and youth unemployment is an urgent priority. This ChildFund apprenticeship will help a young person build a better future by providing training on motorbike repair, small-business management and materials to start a business of their own.
How this gift helps
Children, families and communities in Cambodia have suffered greatly in the past. Houses, livelihoods, public facilities, schools and lives were destroyed during the Khmer Rouge regime. But the gift of employment training has helped people rebuild their lives. Piseth is living with disability and was unable to find a steady job to provide for his family. Thanks to Gifts for Good donors, ChildFund could offer Piseth the opportunity to train as a motorbike mechanic. “I am happy to have my husband learning new skills so that we can start a business to support our family in the future,” His wife, Orm, said.
