Life in Uganda

Timothy is a young boy and was born in Central Uganda. He is a Ganda by tribe and a Catholic by religion. He attends school even though his family struggles so much to raise school dues for Timothy and the siblings and his favourite subject is Counting numbers. He enjoys playing with toy cars. He stays with both parents and siblings in semi-permanent house in one of the underserved villages within the central region. The family has got a small piece of land where they practice subsistence farming which serves for food and income. However, the yields are sometimes poor because of bad weather or pests and diseases. Such poor harvests make it hard for the family to have regular meals and subject them to live on one single meal a day. Timothys family average monthly income is 20 US dollars, which is inadequate to provide quality education, health care and other basic needs for this child and calls for additional support to help him realize his future dream. His favourite food is smashed bananas, rice, and beef.
