Conflict
stole their
Childhood

In Gaza, Children are growing up without...
"Before joining the class, Hiba was anxious, cried often, and could not focus or interact with others."
– Hiba’s parents

...enough food, an education or certainty for the future.
"Before joining the class, he didn't understand what school meant and had very limited learning."
– Asad’s parents
A safe learning space
Temporary classrooms give children in Gaza more than lessons – they provide protection, stability and the chance to simply be kids again.
Your gift moves them closer to a future where they can learn, play and rediscover the joys of childhood – like reading a book from start to finish, laughing with friends and dreaming of who they’ll be when they grow up.
With your support, children are starting school for the first time.
Kids can be kids again.
With your support, children are starting school again.

From anxious to joyful
The Al-Attar Safe Learning Space helped Hiba learn to connect with others and grow in confidence. Now she comes home excited to share what she’s learned and tells stories of playing with friends.
Through consistent one-on-one support and activities focused on her emotions and wellbeing, like storytelling, art and games designed to help her express her feelings, Hiba gradually began to feel safe and open up.
By the end of the program, she stood out as one of the most enthusiastic children – singing and dancing on stage during the closing performance at the learning centre.

From isolation to connection
After joining the Al-Buraq Safe Learning Space in Khan Yunis, Asad became one of the most enthusiastic students in his class. He’s discovered the joy of learning – and the joy of making friends.
Asad now participates actively in lessons, works well with his classmates and enjoys every moment. He’s learning new skills from his teachers, psychologists and other children. And it’s clear he loves it.
For the first time, Asad is enjoying the carefree fun of childhood. He plays football, participates in competitions and gets creative with drawing, colouring, singing and music.
How Your
GIFT
Works
In partnership with WeWorld, we’re creating Safe Learning Spaces to provide:
Protection
After years of displacement and trauma, these spaces provide physical safety and emotional security – a refuge where children can let their guard down.
Safe Learning Spaces welcome every child, including those with disabilities. For the first time in years, kids have a place where they feel safe enough to play, learn and connect with others.
Education
Teachers and psychologists are trained in social- emotional learning to help children process their experiences, build coping skills and regain confidence.
Sessions combine learning with play and creative activities – music, theatre, dance, drawing, storytelling and sport. Teachers tailor their methods to each child’s needs, helping them express themselves, build friendships and rediscover the joy of learning.
Stability
After years of upheaval, the simple rhythm of a school day – lessons, playtime, lunch, learning – gives children structure and predictability.
Children attend regular sessions twice a week. Each child receives a school bag with notebooks, pens and art supplies. They receive fresh fruit as a healthy snack during sessions. These consistent routines help children feel settled and supported as they rebuild their lives.
Your gift can provide:
- Trained teachers and psychologists
- Learning materials and supplies
- Nutritious snacks for energy
- A safe place for children to learn, recover and just be kids.
Will you help create more safe learning spaces for Kids in Gaza?
