Give children a strong start they need
In Timor-Leste, communities are coming together – to give their kids a strong start in life. Children like baby Carla (pictured), who receives child health checks from local midwife Joana.
It’s a heartbreaking reality in Timor-Leste, where 50 out of every 1,000 children born will die before their 5th birthday.
But in Carla’s community, ChildFund-trained volunteers are stepping up to bridge the gap. Local mums have formed a Mothers Support Group to share knowledge about nutrition and its life-saving impact on children. With Joana’s guidance, they’re turning knowledge into action.
