60 seconds with … Dao Ha

Ever wanted to know what it’s like to work in international aid? In this special series, we introduce you to our many dedicated staff members working behind the scenes and on the ground, in Australia and overseas.

We hope you enjoy meeting #TeamChildFund!

My name is Dao Ha.

I’m a Sponsor Relations Officer at ChildFund Vietnam.

My role involves establishing and maintaining connections between children and their sponsors through a network of community volunteers, supporting sponsors’ visits and sometimes organising fun learning events for sponsored children. I am responsible for child sponsorship activities in two districts of Hoa Binh province. My work contributes to retaining the child-sponsor relationship, and helping to ensure a great experience for both child and sponsor.

I’ve been at ChildFund since 2006.

Dao Ha has been with ChildFund Vietnam for more than a decade. She loves to stay active and plays badminton, soccer and table tennis.

My most inspiring moment at ChildFund was the time I received the certificate for my 10-year of service for ChildFund Vietnam during our staff retreat in 2016. I was really happy and proud to be a part of the organisation and what my colleagues and I had done for the children, their parents and the community.

The thing I love most about my job are seeing children’s smiles when they receive letters and gifts from their sponsors, seeing the changes that ChildFund helps bring to the community, and the gratitude of the community where I work for the work I have done.

When I was a child I wanted to be a teacher so that I could teach poor children living in my neighbourhood.

The country I’d most like to visit is Australia.

The top 3 things I’d take with me in an emergency would be a mobile phone, some money and some medicine.

My favourite foods are fish and chicken. I often cook and eat them at home with my husband and my two beloved sons.

I’m really good at sports such as badminton, soccer and table tennis.

I can’t live without playing sports.

I’m looking forward to seeing the changes that ChildFund will bring to new difficult project areas.
