Ever wanted to know what it’s like to work in international aid? In this special series, we introduce you to our many dedicated staff members working behind the scenes and on the ground, in Australia and overseas.

We hope you enjoy meeting #TeamChildFund!

I’m the Procurement and Logistics Officer at ChildFund Timor-Leste.

My role involves managing all procurement for ChildFund Timor-Leste based on our approved plans and any requests. It’s my job to ensure all requests are aligned with our procedures and policies to ensure transparency and accountability. I also provide logistics support here in the country office, and to our affiliated projects and other programs.

I’ve been at ChildFund since June 2014.

My most inspiring moment at ChildFund was during a team building activity in 2016 with ChildFund staff in Liquica. My team, Horse, won most of the games. It was a really fun moment and my team worked so hard to win!

The things I love most about my job are providing logistics support to our program staff, so that we can support Timorese children.

When I was a child I wanted to be a doctor so that I could help my family and other people.

Aleixo dreams of one day seeing Mount Everest.

The country I’d most like to visit is Nepal, because I’m really interested to see Mount Everest.

The top three things I’d take with me in an emergency would be my mobile phone, some food and some cash.

My favourite dish/cuisine is fried rice chicken, and the place I like to eat is close to a beach or any other place that is quiet and calm.

I’m really good at providing assistance and support to my colleagues.

I can’t live without my family, co-workers and other people.

I’m looking forward to providing more support to ChildFund programs so that we can achieve our targets and support more children in Timor-Leste.
