ChildFund in Senegal has been working with communities to improve their income and independence by delivering sheep to deprived families. These animals are a real asset as their milk provides nourishing food for children, their wool can be sold at the market and the profit can be used to enable families to address their health and education needs. To ensure the longevity of this program, animal feed, peanut straw and veterinary care are also provided so the community can learn the skills required for successful animal-husbandry.
