Solomon Islands
The Solomon Islands is one of the least developed countries in the Pacific region. With a geographically dispersed population, access to healthcare, education and other social services is difficult and expensive.
In the Solomon Islands, 72% of children experience violence in the home. Without strong, community-based child protection interventions, or systems in place, many children continue to be at risk of abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation.
ChildFund began working in the Solomon Islands as part of the Child Protection Pacific Project in 2016. The project brought together six partners from across the Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Kiribati to strengthen child protection systems and practice in the community.
Our priorities are:
Supporting children and young people to be safe in a digital world through the SwipeSafe program.
Gender based and family violence is commonplace in the Solomon Islands and we’re supporting local partners to deliver services in prevention, response, and support.
1,000 children in one year.
That’s just the start of the difference you’ll make!
